ちょっと忘れたけど一ヶ月前ぐらいアメリカの一番有名な動物園を訪ねるために僕らがサンディエゴに行って来ました。すごく楽しかったです。キリンちゃんにえさを上げましたりサイとかボノボとか近くで眺めたりしました。Flickrに

Have you ever talked on the phone while you were driving? I presume that most of you've done it before. Me? Of course I have. We all know that we shouldn't do that, but, unfortunately, it's so easy to do.

Although I've done it many times before, I don't like people who do it. They make me nervous, especially when I'm jogging. They're concentrating on talking so much that they can't pay attention enough to other cars and pedestrians. I've been nearly hit by selfish drivers several times.

My weekend started with seeing my dentist. It doesn't sound fun, but it wasn't bad at all. I've never had any painful experiences at this dentist. After that, we drove to Sebastopol to see Seth's friends Hugo and Emi. They're husband and wife, and they've been together since college. Seth was a friend of Hugo, and they shared a house for a while. Although Hugo and Emi are vegetarian, we all love eating. We always talk about food.

One of the delightful things about California is its richness in fruit. This is the best time of year for stone fruit. When I first heard the word "stone fruit" I had no idea what it was. It's neither a fruit which looks like a stone nor is it hard like a stone. Stone fruits are fruits whose seeds are like stones, such as peaches, plums, and cherries. What a great word for them!

ついに、食べたみかんの写真を載せます。

前のブログの時に載せたかったんですけど、事件が起こりました。

はじめは普段のみかんの撮影でした。でも、だんだんとみかんがうるさくなりました。だから、
みかんを黙らせるために脅しとして、一個たべました。それは悪い考えでした。みかんが一斉に僕に襲って来ました。

恐かったんですよ。でも、そういう時には勇気をださなければいけません。だから、僕がみかんを次から次へ口に投げ込み、反撃しました。

みかんは見事な抵抗を見せたんですがとうとう負けて食べられてしまいました。どこも皮やジュースだらけでした。ひどい戦闘でした。

みかんの季節が終わってから本国に送還します。

景子がちゃんと英語でよくブログしてるんですが、俺はいつも理由を探してサボっています。でも、今日は「In-N-Out」バーガーを食べすぎてお腹が困っているせいでそういう理由を考えられへんです。そして、今日の冒険へようこそ。

きょう、今年の初スノボをしました。知合いも聞いたことない「Donner Ski Ranch」という新しいゲレンデへ行って来ました。それは最初の間違いでした。ゲレンデのコースは狭くて短いのに、何回も迷ってしまいました。チッチャなチビチビのサインが全然役に立たなかったんです。その上、リフトがよく止まってゆっくり上がっていました。それなのに、このゲレンデが何か家庭的な雰囲気が表れていました。残念ながら、今日は連休だからロッジが芋を洗ってるバケツに似ていました。

After about 5 hours driving from Death Valley, we finally got to Masaru's (our friend's) house in L.A. At that time we were very dirty and stinky because we weren't able to take any showers in Death Valley for two days and were playing for hours in sand dunes. So his dog kept sniffing us. Then we took a shower and washed the sand off. After a little chatting with Masaru and his wife, we went to bed. Damm...It was sooo nice sleeping on a futon especially after sleeping in a freezing car.

Death Valley is the one of our favorite places. Obviously, the view from the valley is wonderful, but one thing that I want to mention is how much fun you can have playing with natural features such as sand dunes, craters and many kinds of other things.

The first day in Death Valley: we mostly drove through it and enjoyed the magnificent view. Even though we saw the same view last year, it was still amazing. After all of us saw the sunset together, our friends went home, but my husband and I had decided to stay one more day. We needed to find some food and a place to sleep.

During Christmas vacation, we went to Manzanar and Death Valley--which
are located in south east California. We drove there (actually Seth was driving and I was sleeping all the way from Oakland except eating dinner...), and it took about 8 hours to get to a little cute town (Lone Pine), near Manzanar. The time when we found the motel was 3 am, so we went straight to bed.

Then the next morning, I was surprised by the view from the motel. The mountains were covered with snow. It was just beautiful.
